5 essential outdoor products for cold weather camping

Spending a holiday outdoors when it is cold can be an unforgettable adventure or an absolute nightmare, especially in places where the weather is not stable or unpredictable. Usually, a good or bad camping experience depends on only one factor: how you have prepared for the trip. Taking along essential camping equipment and great outdoor portable heatable products can make the difference between a relaxing holiday under the trees and a bad experience. Whether you're a first-time camper or a seasoned adventurer, don't take your next trip without these essential outdoor products.

TENT OR CAMPER VAN

This is probably the most obvious of the five points. Although sleeping outdoors may seem like a romantic experience, you should always have a tent or motorhome as a safe place to stay. It doesn't matter whether you opt for a traditional tent or a more luxurious camper van. And have you thought of everything? In the case of the tent, for example, the necessary accessories such as rope, tent poles, pegs and a rain roof? And why not a heatable product like a heat pad to keep you warm while you make yourself comfortable in your temporary home?

WARM SLEEPING BAG

Even in summer, temperatures can drop below 0° degrees at night. If you forgo a warm sleeping bag, you risk an uncomfortable night's sleep at best, or even hypothermia at worst. For extra warmth, you can use a heat pad or portable warming blanket to keep you nice and comfy while you snuggle up in the great outdoors.

FIRST AID KIT

If you don't get reckless and careless in the hunt for the perfect selfie, life-threatening injuries are unlikely. But small cuts or scratches can happen on many occasions. Long days of hiking can lead to blisters and it doesn't take much to get a cut or bruise on your hands, arms or legs. Even small cuts and scratches can quickly become infected if left untreated. Your outdoor equipment should therefore always include a first aid kit. Your first aid kit should contain at least the following: Scissors, plasters, gauze, disinfectant. Make sure you also take bottles of sunscreen and insect repellent with you!

WEATHER APPROPRIATE CLOTHING AND RAINWEAR

You cannot pack your entire wardrobe in your backpack. Therefore, it is important to choose the right clothes to keep you dry. Walking around in damp clothes is not only uncomfortable, in cooler temperatures it can be harmful to your health. Choose a lightweight, waterproof rain jacket that can cover several layers of clothing. The best camping rain jackets or capes also cover your backpack!

Make sure you have enough clothes for the trip and that you can wear them in layers. I'm sure you've heard the term onion look.

And if you get caught in the rain and get wet, make sure you have a change of clothes handy and keep warm until you are dry. A seat heater with a powerbank or an outdoor heating blanket can help you warm up with portable heat and get dry again faster.

THERMAL BLANKET OR EQUIVALENT

This may seem like a rather minor item on your adventurer checklist. However, many of our Outchair customers are experienced campers and after experiencing the great outdoors with one of our wireless electric blankets or outdoor seat cushions with portable heat, they would never want to do without it again.

A mobile thermal blanket can make your life much more comfortable when camping in cold weather and reduce the space needed for heavy sleeping bags.

What could be better than a pleasant and warm night's sleep after a day of hiking in the fresh wind!
